This project is incredibly easy and I was able to create these very inexpensively with the help of Dollar Tree. I found these white mugs at Dollar Tree so the project cost only $7 for 7 mugs (since I already had Sharpie’s on hand).
We used red and black Sharpie’s.
The process is very simple – clean off your surface with either an alcohol wipe or a cotton ball.
You need a Mickey Mouse template which I just printed a “head” online. It doesn’t need to be perfect.
Tape it (I rolled the tape because I need the letter to be easily removed afterward) on to the mug surface.
Then go crazy placing dots randomly all around and in empty spaces in no particular pattern. Have fun with it. Once you feel you have enough dots – remove the letter and tape.
Place the mugs into the oven on 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
That is all there is to it. If you are using them for a gift you can also place a few items in them from Dollar Tree and you have a great personalized gift, inexpensively.
What a clever idea–and fun, too. I can imagine all sorts of variations on this for gift-giving. Thanks for the how-to.
Love the mickey and Minnie coffee cups have to try
I am seeing these more and more now, but this is the first Mickey. I love it.
I LOVE this idea. I may have to do a similar version of this with my daycare kiddos(maybe with hearts for Valentine’s Day). 🙂
Oh my, I LOVE this and pinning for some future goodies!!!
OMGosh! these are adorable and so fun. I now want to go to Dollar Tree and get me some mugs to do this with!

Wow, they are really cute. I would love a mug like this.
What a super cute idea. We have our Disneyside party Monday these would make cute favors.
So creative. I just don’t think I have the skill set to make it look as nice as you did.
