Thank God for the Innocence
While at the vet with one of our dogs the other day something happened before I had a chance to shield my son from seeing it. I was horrified as two people carried a stretcher right out the front door to a car with a very large sealed bag on it – yes, you know what it was.
I immediately turned to look at my son hoping he was engrossed with some toy or pre-occupied with our dog. No such luck. As I catch his eye – he says, “Man, that is one huge bag of poop!” Everyone’s jaw dropped and they tried to hide their laughter. We all let him believe it was a huge bag of poop.
Keep in mind we have two giant breed dogs and a large breed dog and our “bags of poop” can be pretty significant – but no where near the size of a bag on a stretcher. I went home thrilled that no further explanation was needed and everyone in the packed waiting room was quite content to leave me with him remaining innocent to the harshness of life.
