In general today was a difficult day – chalk it up to emotions. So these are the interesting points.
First, we have an interesting set of dogs. These photos detail the two youngest. There is a definite hierarchy to their “pack”. Our older Weimeraner is clearly the Alpha. Our English Mastiff is bottom of the totem pole and our Lansier Newfoundland is a trouble maker.
If and when all three dogs are in the kennel – we have a very large igloo in there. In ten years no dog has ever gone in it. Now that we have the younger two dogs – there is an order. Our Weimeraner (not shown) – hangs out nonstop on top of the igloo – he is King of his domain, watching over his pups. The Newfoundland stakes her claim on the rest of the igloo. She constantly turns it around so no one else can get in it – she leaves a very narrow opening. And just to insure no one else gets in it she hangs over the opening taunting either of the other two if they come near. Most days the younger two are not in the kennel – one is recuperating from surgery and the other is an escape artist.
Also tonight I determined I just wasn’t making dinner. I just couldn’t do it – too tired and overwhelmed. So my husband took us to Kentucky Fried Chicken. I wasn’t eating much anyway so the kids chose the destination. Lucky for them – turns out it was kids night and they were able to participate in a craft activity. Even better for me – I didn’t need to entertain them. I just needed a break. And everyone was happy.
