Quick and Easy Nightgown
This was an experiment and it worked out lovely. I wanted to whip up a nightgown for my daughter – who is addicted to dresses and nightgowns. I have made some elaborate nightgowns but she still seems to gravitate to the basic and easy designs.
For this design I simply created a tall (for a six year old) pillowcase. For the head I left an opening about 10 inches wide and for the arm holes – I left an opening 7 1/2 inches tall where the sides meet the top. Simple as that. No fancy trim, one long piece folded in half, cut and sewn. You don’t get much easier than that. It is a rather stiff fabric so the shoulders didn’t fall the way I hoped they would but she didn’t care. This would work so well with a tshirt style fabric or a crushed velvet.
