Photos of the Week
My daughter and I took this photo this week. It may not seem like much to you but I will explain the significance of it to me.
Now I have no idea what all those tall weeds are that blow in the breeze but I just had to take a photo of this field full of them. If anyone knows what they are, I would love to know.
The significance – when my grandmother was alive she fell in love with these things. The first time she saw them on the side of the road she begged me to stop and grab some for her. Well that was easier said than done. They were so rooted into the ground I couldn’t pull them out no matter how hard I tried. I tried twisting them to break them off – no luck. I tried using my car keys to “saw” them off – no luck. That first time I had to give up after a full half hour of trying. However, after that I always made sure I had a pair of scissors (a sturdy pair) to grab some whenever we saw them. After that, it was always something we did – she always had them decorating her house and yard. They made her very happy.
So now, whenever I see them, they make me happy. They aren’t anything special and they aren’t particularly attractive. But it was something we did and she didn’t do it with anyone else.
And for your added pleasure – a photo of true love…
