Sweater to Christmas Stocking
I have been saving the sweaters everyone no longer needs for a multitude of purposes. There are so many things you can do with sweaters, jeans and tshirts – the sky is truly the limit.
Today we will make a Christmas stocking out of a sweater – actually two but the photos are from the first one.
Sephora wanted a simple red stocking while Anthony chose one with a slight pattern.
First is the red sweater – inside out.
Lay it someplace flat – in my case, the floor – and cut out the shape of a large Christmas stocking. The top of the stocking will actually be the bottom of the sweater – no hemming required.
Sew along the outer edge (not the top) with a zig zag stitch.
Then turn it right side out and it is ready to be used.
Exactly as she wanted – she is now very happy.
And here is Anthony’s from a different sweater.
