My son has special needs and loves his legos. But he doesn’t engage in imaginative play without some sort of prompting. Left on his own he would not build anything with legos – he would line them up in some sort of order. But with prompting he can play successfully with my daughter. So I bought an inexpensive coffee table at the thrift store, cleaned it all up, mod podged the top and mod podged a row of legos around three edges. This gave him the permanent base to build upon. Now he plays with his legos all the time.
