Match my photo game
In my never ending quest to keep my children entertained while still “working their mind” – I created this game. The game itself is certainly not a new concept – a matching game.
But in my version I bought a cheap deck of standard cards from the dollar store. I printed two sets of 12 wallet sized pictures of each child. Glued (with a hot glue gun or they will peal right off the card due to the coating on the card) them onto the cards (they were just large enough to totally cover the information on each card. I chose not to use the wallet prints “as is” because I wanted them to be more heavy duty and I also wanted the backs to be exactly the same – the pattern on the back of the deck of cards.
See?! They look like a standard set of cards from the backside.
But from the front side – there are two of each photo.
Shuffle them up – spread them photo side down on the floor – and let your children take turns trying to find the identical matches.
24 fit perfectly into a gift card container – making them very easy to transport and show all their friends.
Once I gave each set to my kids for Christmas – they weren’t too stimulated with just 12 sets each. They immediately combined both sets and now that is what they use. So, depending on the age of your children you may wish to make about 20 sets of 2.
