My daughter gained some weight while on some medication so we are trying to help her get back to her starting point. One way we are working with is to send her with lunch every day versus having her buy lunch at school. We send her with fruit, cheese, yogurt etc… And so far it is working.
But the other day she indicated that I needed to send her to school with a placemat?! I thought that was an odd request so I asked, why? She said everyone who buys lunch has a tray and since she brings lunch she needs a placemat to place her food on. Well, okay then…
So she needs a placemat that can fold up and fit into her lunchbox. Yet be able to be washed/wiped off and reused. Here are our solutions. I bought a large $.99 reusable shopping bag at TJ Maxx. We cut it up. Out of that bag we got 6 separate, foldable placemats. The sides we just cut and folded. The bottom was not salvageable. The two sides however, are usable with the seams still in tact.
She used one today – I folded it up with a napkin and placed it in a baggie. It worked perfectly.
