Vacation Day 1
Today is day 1 of vacation and so far so good. First we slept in a little bit – not a lot trust me. So exciting right?
Anthony starts summer camp after vacation so we were able to spend some time getting acquainted with the camp and the routine they will have. Although he wasn’t staying today he was so excited – it was as if he were going to Disney World. I can’t wait for him to start camp. This camp truly has some really amazing opportunities for children lilke Anthony with special needs.
Then on the way to our destination the Blue Angels were flying flight patterns over the highway while we were totally stuck in traffic.
For once I actually appreciated the delay. I used to go to air shows all the time and when I first got married I did take my stepsons once while my husband was working. But I have never taken the younger kids and my husband has never been at all. Lo and behold – they were practicing for a semi local air show. I am going to do everything within my power to make that part of our vacation. I am not sure everyone is on the same page but I think I can make this happen – Saturday or Sunday.
Once we got to the campground we unpacked and went for a nice evening swim. It is movie night so we enjoyed a movie under the stars.
After the movie there is always a raffle – last year Sephora won a ticket to the local outdoor water park. But we never went because that still would have required buying 3 or 4 more tickets. Well, tonight she won another – problem is I can’t for the life of me remember where I put the first one. Assuming I find it – we will probably not go until August though. Definitely not this week.
Then fireworks and bed. We should see fireworks for about 7 days straight! So cool…
