Review and Giveaway – Gift Card for Delivery.com
First, it is important to note that each restaurant charges a delivery fee. They vary widely from one restaurant to another, so I would caution people to be aware of that. The restaurant we ordered from charged $1 for delivery fee. One restaurant we considered charged $10!
The Delivery.com site is easy to use. Simply enter your address and it will automatically populate a list of restaurants in your area that deliver. Each listing shows the distance from your location. Most will deliver lunch or dinner. We were not able to order from the dinner menu until after the lunch schedule had expired. We had to wait until after 3:00pm to enter our dinner order. It would be more convenient if we could pre-order at any time of the day.
There wer a ton of places to choose from in the Denver area. We love Tai food, so we tried a local place we had not eaten at yet. I started trying to place our order around 4:30pm. I had a great deal of difficulty, the pages loaded slowly and usually timed out until at 5:04 their site crashed. It was back up and running though by 5:15 and then it worked like a charm.
The menus were easy to navigate, with little windows that would pop-up with additional details about each menu item. There was even the option of special cooking instructions (like spicy, mild, hot, or I guess you could also put in food intolerance/allergy info) You had the option of ordering the delivery ASAP or there was a drop-down menu that allowed you to pick from several time slots.
The restaurant we ordered from is called Purple Ginger II and we got sesame chicken, shrimp fried rice, beef lo-mein, and an appetizer sampler. The total came to $43.90, plus the $1 delivery charge, $8.78 gratuity, and a total of $57.13. Paying with a gift card was very easy. We would definitely order through them again. The food was great, the portions were big, and the delivery guy showed up 25 minutes early! (which never happens when you order pizza). All in all, I would say delivery.com definitely worth trying.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
