Storm Sandy Update 10/28/12
“largest threat to human life Connecticut has ever seen”
I think we are as well prepared as we can be. Schools are all already cancelled for Monday and Tuesday. The worst part of the 500 mile wide storm will begin tomorrow morning at 6am and will continue for 36 hours straight.
I wish I could say we will be hunkering down but I need to work and support emergency services. That means I need to walk away from my family during the most critical part of the storm. That is never ever easy to do and I am definitely not looking forward to it. I believe we have done enough for our family to be kept safe and I will undoubtedly be safe where I will be working. Hopefully unlike storm Irene – hopefully we will maintain cell service. The cell towers supposedly have longer battery backups in order to facilitate communication. Services were virtually crippled last year during Irene.
So, everyone – keep your fingers crossed. I will try to remain accessible but if any of these descriptors are correct – it may not be possible for some time.
