This is not your usual scavenger hunt. It is a mix between a scavenger hunt, treasure hunt, murder mystery, and elements of a game you may remember as Clue. Host print out all the game pieces and hide them through the playing area. Players are divided into teams and they must discover who kidnapped Santa, What they did it with, and where the culprit elf is keeping him hidden. Along the way they will also find point cards and situation cards. Point cards can be used to buy clues from other teams, and situation cards really make this game fun because they have funny situations written on them that players must act out. This is a fun game for people of all ages. Even my seven year old is able to play pretty independently. The game begins with Santa being kidnapped. The guests (family members) need to find out who kidnapped him, what they kidnapped him with and where is he hidden. The more players you have the more fun you have. We played with just our family and it was fun but I can just imagine how much more fun it would have been with many more and playing as a team. Just when you think you are making progress, you could end up with an UhOh card which will set you back in some way until you receive a respite card. This is definitely not a board game and also not a bored game… Enjoy and have fun with it! We have played it a couple times so far – once inside the house and once outside. Although inside there are more nooks and crannies to hide clues it is not nearly as much fun as playing outside. So if you have daylight and warm enough weather – give that a try. To play the game independently a child needs to be able to read as well as comprehend what the cards are telling them. The printable graphics are awesome and very well done. The instructions for the game are very clear but if you have any questions you can simply refer to the website. For more party games click HERE . There are many options available for normal parties or holiday parties. You will never be bored and will have many options to entertain your guests of all ages. Personally I printed the cards on card stock and laminated them to last. I know I could print them anytime I want but that would use my ink over and over again. It was just as easy to laminate them for reuse and use a dry erase marker for anything I wish to write on. My kids kept trading cards and I truly think that was the most fun aspect of the game for them. Although we played with our family which involved some young children – this game would be entirely appropriate for a group of adults to play. It truly is fun for all ages. So get your printable Christmas Scavenger Hunt game now in plenty of time for the Christmas gatherings.
