SensaCalm Product Review Update and Giveaway
I have been given the opportunity to review a product from a company called – SensaCalm.
SensaCalm is the “home of the original affordable weighted blanket. They make therapeutic products for Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Restless Legs Syndrome, Aspergers, ADD/ADHD, Dementia, Alzheimers, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and more.
Our daughter (age 7) struggles with sleep. She has difficulties falling asleep but more importantly has difficulties staying asleep. There is always something on her mind and she always has plans that she tries to follow through on – even at 4am (if we are lucky – sometimes it is as early as 2am). But clearly she is always exhausted, never refreshed which causes multiple issues throughout the day.
SensaCalm also makes other products such as weighted belts, weighted vests, soothing weighted snakes, white noise machines, calming epsom soap, twiddle muffs etc…

Tonight is night 1. Sephora was so incredibly happy to experience this new blanket. First she sat with it on her lap on the couch for 45 minutes before bed. She NEVER sits – and she sat with no computer, TV or electronics of any type. She just had a manual puzzle game on her lap and focused on that.
The blanket is 10 pounds and approximately 38″ x 62″. She fell asleep within 7 minutes! I am going to run an update post after a few days because my goal is to get her to sleep past 4am! I know it would be ambitious to hope for on day 1 but it should continue to improve over time.
When you place an order on their website there is the following chart to use as your guide:
When you are between weights – you go to the next higher weight. In my daughter’s case she is 74 – so for 80 pounds, it is a 10 pound blanket allowing .051 pounds of pressure per square foot.
There are character fabrics, patterns, gallery fabrics and supreme solids. So many options to choose from but remember – you can even customize the product with just about any fabric you want!
STAY TUNED FOR A RECAP OF PROGRESS after a few days!
If you know anyone that has a special needs child – this may help “make all the difference.”
UPDATE
Jamie Loves Purple, so he would love that one. And it would never matter if he outgrew characters that way. 🙂
i like so many of them!! i would be buying for my son so i would choose pooh or mickey or maybe the dazzling blue senior06chs@aol.com
They have a really nice range of patterns for kids. I think I’d probably go with the Cars Redline pattern. Cars is popular in this household.
Medium Weighted Blanket – Raspberry for my daughter
I like the fuchsia for my daughter
I love the Scarlet gallery fabric!
the only concern I would have is that children have died using weighted blankets unattended due to suffocation (just google “weighted blankets deaths”)I have one for my son and we only use it supervised and never for sleeping – it scares me too much to let him sleep with it, however its great for his sensory needs due to his Autism & SPD.
Purple! 😀
I Like the Ocean.

The Scarlet is the one I would choose.

I would get the Spiderman one, my son loves Spiderman. Right now the only way he likes to sleep is with 10+ blankets on him (I am not exaggerating) so this would be awesome. Thanks for the giveaway.
