I received a bottle of the clear Sun Shadz. I will definitely be using this during the summer. At this time of year it is difficult for me to evaluate the SPF attributes of the product but it will come in very handy during the summer when camping and spending a great deal of time at the pool and beach. Sun Shadz comes in a clear plastic bottle. When you remove the cover there is a brush at the top of the bottle like a make-up brush. The bottle has a silver rimmed twist dial at the top and you choose I, II or III to determine how much is dispensed from the bottle. Shake it and it will start dispensing through the brush – brush it in and rub it into the scalp.
The texture of the Sun Shadz is similar to that of a liquid powder makeup. This summer I searched high and low for some sort of sunscreen to use for my children’s scalps. My son has very light colored short (brush cut style) hair. My daughter kept putting her hair up in french braids, leaving wide areas of scalp open to the sun. A couple times their scalps became sun burned due to the significant amount of time in the sun. I am very much looking forward to the summer months this year now that I have an SPF scalp alternative. And it isn’t some sort of slimy sun tan lotion. I would spray their heads or scrub lotion into their heads and they would whine and squirm! This will be so much better. I am not sure how it will hold up to water but we will definitely be testing it out. Even if I have to apply it a little more frequently.
Check out all this scalp! This will hopefully be a huge help this summer.
