Reviewing – KidsEmail.org
They are correct with their tagline – protect your kids while giving them their freedom. I signed our two youngest children up for the KidsEmail.org program. The very first thing that is abundantly clear – there are plenty of parental controls and they can be geared towards younger children or older children. I can set up who the kids can email and who they can receive emails from. I have the option to set them up for both siblings at the same time or set up contacts specific for the one child. For example – due to Anthony’s special needs I am in frequent contact with his teacher. He can now email her directly (definitely with her permission) and receive additional information, reinforcement directly from her.
If someone wishes to email the kids and they are not in the preapproved contact list – the email comes to me to approve or deny. On that same note – if they try sending an email to someone other than their contact list, I can approve or deny.
I see all emails. The program is quite customized – for example do I want my kids to receive image attachments? I can set time restrictions; ground them from the email; block certain senders; view activity logs and so much more.
There is also an iphone/ipod application. They actually do all emails on their ipod.
I love the control I have with the program and the fact that I can monitor their activities for safety. Their contact list started with just their father and I but is gradually growing to include extended family and more. They love getting photos directly to their own email address. They can even personalize their own email with graphic choices on the site…
KidsEmail.org has been given the Parents’ Choice Award by the Parents’ Choice Foundation and the Parent Tested Parent Approved Award by PTPAMedia.com.
In closing – we all love the safe, easily monitored email offered by KidsEmail.org and will not hesitate to recommend it to other parents.
See how it works…
