How Do You Keep Active?
At the end of this month, we start camping again. Camping =swimming! Although I could swim all winter long in an indoor pool at a local facility, it just isn’t the same. I like to swim in the ocean and in a pool out in the fresh air. This particular campground has three heated pools and four hot tubs. The pools aren’t the problem – the cold air afterwards is. We have gone swimming in 50 degree weather. When I say a heated pool it isn’t like it is heated to 85 degrees but it is definitely not at 30 degrees. In fact, this past weekend we went to three oceans up north and still went partially in. Not enough to swim but enough to get through some of our winter withdrawals.
Then of course there is walking, hiking and biking. Although we call it camping, it is really about all these other things. When we stay home it is so easy to get sidetracked with chores and other responsibilities. While camping, it is just natural to be outside and active. Our campground is huge – it is almost ¾ of a mile just from our camper to the front of the campground and back. Of course we venture up to the front twenty times or more per day. That’s a lot of miles!
How do you keep active – just for the fun of it?
