Product Review and Giveaway – DrainWig
Have you heard of the DrainWig? It is a new product that was featured on the Today Show recently. If you are a woman or live with a woman with long hair this can be a total life saver. I happen to be home the day this product was featured on the Today Show and I am thrilled that I was.
I have long hair (at the moment – depends on the time of year and my mood) and my 8 year old daughter also does. She also has a medical situation causing her to lose some hair. The result is our drain seems to constantly clog with the combination of her hair and mine. Now this is not an uncommon problem. I know so many women who also have similar issues in their home.
The simple concept is a chain with foam fibers attached to it – all hanging from a plastic flower head. Simple feed the chain through the drain and the flower keeps the chain from going down the drain.
The DrainWig is a plastic flower cap attached to a stainless steel ball-chain fitted with rubber whiskers. The DrainWig is simple and easy to install; just feed the DrainWig through the bathtub drain or shower drain cover and wait 1-3 months. As hair enters the drain’s p-trap, it floats and spins on top of the water. The DrainWig’s ball chain, fitted with rubber whiskers, is able to catch and secure the hair. The tangled hair remains on the chain and out of sight until you are ready to remove the hairball. The DrainWig is easily extracted without touching the hair or removing the drain cover. Simply throw it away and replace it with a new DrainWig— no plumber needed!
To remove the DrainWig simply pull the flower cap and the chain with all hair attached comes right up. No need to ever touch anything – simply throw the entire thing out and set up another DrainWig.
