Indoor / Summer Snow – Just Two Simple Ingredients That Your Probably Have In Your Home Right Now!
My husband heard about this project from one of his teachers and we immediately had to try it. I don’t know if it really has a name but we deemed it – “Summer Snow”.
The only two ingredients are shaving cream and baking soda (and if you don’t have them on hand you can pick them up at the dollar store).
We dumped a full box of baking soda into a bowl and then gradually added more and more shaving cream.
It was a standard size box of baking soda and we ended up using about half the can of shaving cream.
The mixture gets mixed together and then after a few minutes it starts to get chilly like snow and feels like the same exact consistency as snow. It sticks together etc… We didn’t make enough here but we will be making more so my daughter can make her own indoor snowman. How cool is that.
It also seems to have some sort of shelf life though I haven’t quite determined how long that is. But in a sealed container it can easily be used for a couple days. Time will tell just how long it will hold up.
And actually it isn’t summer right now and real snow will be here any moment – but being able to play with snow inside is still so much fun!
