Goodies for the Puppies
We love our puppies – well that aren’t exactly puppies. That is kind of why it is a “joke”. They are an English Mastiff and a Newfoundland. Big big dogs… And those big dogs love their treats. I can often obtain treats pretty inexpensively with coupons but when I can’t – dog treats are very easy to make. You can find recipes all over the place on Pinterest.
Everything Etsy had a recipe on their site that I modified a little and made a double batch – totally necessary for our girls.
4 Eggs
6 Cups Flour (we used 1/2 wheat and 1/2 white)
1 Jar of peanut butter (approximately 2 cups)
1 1/2 Cups of Fat Free Milk
2 Tablespoons of Baking Soda
Mix together. If it is way to sticky and moist add a bit more white flour.
Dig in and get dirty !!!
It takes some muscle. I had to keep stepping in and giving her a break.
Then you can either roll out and use a cookie cutter (which we did not do – I have no patience for that with a batch this large) or just roll into balls, flatten out and decorate with fork prongs like a peanut butter cookie.
Here is the scrumptious end result. My daughter was so excited when the dogs loved them… these will keep them busy for a bit.
