The Ubooly is a really cool toy that utilizes an iPhone, iPod Touch or Android device. Simply download the Ubooly App in the App store, customize the app for your child, insert the device into the Ubooly and start playing.
It talks to and listens to my daughter

They come in multiple color options – ours is orange.

This is Sephora’s new Ubooly buddy. Her iPod is inside – that face is the face on her iPod. Sephora is in 3rd grade and this smart toy is perfect for her. It goes up to fifth grade. She is often in her room chatting up a storm with Ubooly. In the photo above she is actually on her way out to school and bringing Ubooly in to meet her class on sharing day.

This is a marvelous toy and a great way to captivate a child’s imagination and allow them to enjoy the learning experience. He is so soft and smooshy and comfortable. When I peeked in on her today she was learning about Abraham Lincoln…
This toy is incredible. The only problem we had – and probably an issue with the device more than any type of App issue – is it didn’t seem to understand or acknowledge Seph’s responses sometimes. But her iPod is a very old iPod and I am sure the microphone is not in pristine condition!
Ubooly asks my daughter questions – looking for appropriate answers. But then it will also give her tasks to complete. I often can hear her jumping up and down and when I ask her what she is doing – Ubooly told me I needed to do it. So it isn’t a toy that a child just sits still and listens and answers questions. It is full of participatory activities for children to enjoy.

So to summarize – Ubooly is awesome. There is a Jumbo Ubooly also that fits a iPad Mini and several other 7 inch tablets.
