OMG! – Never Pay for Cell Phone Service Again With @ScratchWireless
Scratch Wireless is such a unique program – they say you never have to pay a penny for service… What an awesome idea! And it’s true!
Scratch Wireless utilizes Android based Smartphones to access service through wireless. Wifi is nearly everywhere these days, and it’s free. You only need cellular to fill the gaps. Their phones use Wifi wherever possible—they call this Wifi First℠. When there’s no Wifi around, the Sprint Nationwide Network is there to back you up so you’re always connected.
Wifi is now accessible at home, restaurants, hospitals, schools, bars, bookstores, etc… Whether you are on wireless or cellular – texting is always free. However, even if you are not near Wifi service you can still have plenty of coverage – all you need to do is buy a pass which is just $1.99 per day (Sprint Network). There is never a contract or any special obligations. So if you stay on Wireless – never any cost. If you need access without wireless, just purchase a pass to cover your emergencies at other times.
The Motorola Photon Q has everything you expect in an Android smartphone. Instagram, Facebook, you name it. The only thing you lose is the absurd monthly payment. This phone has an amazing touch screen, dual high-resolution cameras, fast
networking capabilities, and access to the entire Google Play Store. This smartphone does everything you want and more.
It’s even got a keyboard for texting addicts. The only cost required is the phone – $269. That’s it. Then enjoy free service.
This is my Motorola Photon Q Phone:
The beautiful green case and the screen protector was absolutely essential since I tend to just throw my phones into my purse – and they were extremely inexpensive. I wanted this phone because my son is 13 and autistic. We are just now trying to give him a little freedom – mostly at the campground. However, I do allow him to use this at home etc… Since the campground has wireless access this phone is perfect. The only time he really cannot use it is when we are physically in a car driving somewhere. However, even then – my husband’s smartphone does have mobile hotspot access if we absolutely need it in an emergency. This gives me a much greater comfort level with allowing him some independence that kids his age get naturally but may be a little too much at times for him. If he is struggling he can always just call me. I haven’t had to add a pass to it just yet but I may add the 30 day pass in the near future just so I don’t have to worry about him. Even that pass is about $40 less per month than I currently pay for our Smartphone contracts.
I will definitely be purchasing one of these phones for my daughter when she gets a little older. At nine years old she also is beginning to get alot more freedom at the campground (secure environment). My only concern at 9 years old is that she will not treat a cell phone any better than she treats our two way radios – not good… They get lost, end up in the pool, get buried in the playground sand etc… So we aren’t quite there yet.
Years ago I could not have imagined getting cell phones for my kids. But the world is a very different place and since all of my kids have special needs, I need to make sure they are safe. I do already have a family cell phone plan (though I may be getting rid of it now!) but I am only allowed five users and we are already maxed out on that. I have looked at the pay as you go phones at local retail establishments but even those are $50+ per month. That is just crazy for the minimal amount of time the younger kids will use the phone. And let’s face it – in today’s day and age – most communication is in the form of texting. I almost never pick up the phone and call someone. It is so much easier to text – and text to so many people at once.
So I urge any of you to consider going with the free service option of Scratch Wireless! You really can’t get any better than that.
