Animal Trackers Club Review

The Animal Trackers Club is a monthly subscription for children and teaches them about a new African animal each month.  It has so many fun things for kids.  The first monthly installment includes a lunchbox to hold everything your child will receive in future packages.  Each month the package includes a miniature animal, an animal mask, a magnet of the animal, an informational card about the featured animal as well as exercises you can do with your child to develop reading skills as well as other fun activities.

With our starter kit we received the zebra package.  The miniature zebra, the magnet and the mask were all great quality products.  The exercises included a sheet with a number and the number word spelled out for your child to draw on the zebra the number of lines indicated.  There were some reading and matching exercises and another activity involving those packing “noodles” in black and white.  The package comes with an outline of a zebra with stripes. Your child would put the “noodles” on the zebra based on the color of the stripe shown.

In the electronic world of today it is difficult to get kids interested in anything that isn’t on a tablet, ipad or computer.  My daughter is no different.  But when the package arrived and she opened the lunch box and was hooked.  She called the lunchbox her safe and wouldn’t take the mask off for hours. As you can see from the photos she was thrilled with the little zebra and even took it to bed with her that night.

The learning part of the package was great.  It included an informational card about the zebra.  It also included a card about where these animals come from how far it is from the United States. We read the cards together and then it was time to move on to the exercises.  She wanted to complete all the exercises that night.  We had to slow her down so we could extend the excitement past the first day.

The package also included some foam animals and background scenes showing where the animals would live. There were so many things included, we will have fun with this package for weeks.  And it’s so nice to be able to work with your child on something that isn’t based on some standardized test.  I received this product to write an honest review, but I think I’ll have to buy in to the program now.  My daughter has already started asking when the next package is coming!
