The Precision Elite Food Thermometer provides a quick temperature read for both liquids and solids. There is no on/off switch. You unfold the probe and your thermometer is ready to read. The probe is very small to keep you from losing all the moisture in your meats or making large holes in your baked goods. It can measure temperatures from ‘40F to 572F. It even has a hold temperature so you can pull it out of the food you are measuring and not have the thermometer start to go down or up in temperature while you’re still trying to read it.
We are a family of die hard BBQ fanatics. Last year we purchased one of those really expensive thermopens. (It cost close to $100) This pen was great, but I was looking for a less expensive comparable thermometer to keep at a summer vacation location and give as gifts to some of our friends who are just starting to get into the BBQ world. This thermometer measured up to our more expensive version. The temperatures were accurate, the probe is the same size, and they both turned on by unfolding. We noticed very little difference between the two.
This product even has a great feature that the more expensive version doesn’t have. My husband regularly smokes meat until long after dark especially now when it gets dark earlier. He was struggling try to use a flashlight to read the temperature on the thermometer we had. He was thrilled that this one is backlit allowing you to see the temperature no matter how dark it is.
This is a great product and much less expensive than some of its competitors. The price point makes it great to give as a gift without breaking the bank. I can see a few of these being bought by me this holiday season.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
