Silicone Heat Resistant Baking Gloves – A must have for your kitchen
Silicone Heat Resistant Baking Gloves
Silicone Heat Resistant Baking Gloves from Select Culinary are a great way to protect your hands from both heat and water. They are heat proof up to 425 degrees, BPA free and they have little bumps all over that make it easier to grip your hot foods and cookware.
I have two issues in the kitchen on a daily basis. I am always cutting myself and always burning myself. I’m close to being banned from knives and stoves by my husband, which makes it really inconvenient for someone who loves to cook. When I put the silicone heat resistant baking gloves on they were very flexible but still thick enough that I felt like they would protect me from burning. The bumps definitely made the grip better and they fit very well. I used them for both baking in the oven and hot pots on the stove. They did get a little covered in food stuff (I said I like to cook. I never said I was a neat cook!). I dropped them in the top rack of my dishwasher and they came out just like new.
Madison (my 8 year old daughter) was helping me bake some muffins last weekend and she wanted to try pulling the pans out of the oven for the first time. In the past I wouldn’t let her because I have to assume she may be as clumsy as me when it comes to pulling pans out of the oven and get burned. I had her put on the gloves and they worked great. The size was good for both her and I and I felt safe allowing her pulling a small pan out of the oven without pulling the rack out. The gloves are long enough to cover your wrists but not too long to make them clumsy.
Overall, I think these Silicone Heat Resistant Baking Gloves are a great addition to my kitchen tools. They do say one size fits, but they were a little too snug for my husband. I should tell you that he’s 6’3” and has really big hands. But for the rest of us, it worked great! I will finally be able to cook without burning myself, assuming I actually remember to put them on!
