Pineapple Bacon Burgers – Hawaiian Style Burgers

Pineapple Bacon Burger - Hawaiian Style

Pineapple Bacon Burgers were a new treat for our family tonight.  My husband has been dying to try them but I couldn’t possibly see how pineapple could work with burger.  I couldn’t even imagine how pineapple would taste with bacon though I see that combination frequently on pizza etc…

So off to the market I went to purchase ingredients to make this all happen.

Just in case we didn’t like it, he made one without pineapple or bacon.  But, that lonely burger still remained after dinner because we dove right in to the “new” burgers and they were delicious.
Our first dilemma was – since we didn’t know if we would like it or what it would taste like – what condiments will work well with it?  I opted for mayonnaise and ketchup, my daughter had no condiments and my husband loaded up on other condiments.  On my burger I also added lettuce but I skipped the tomato because I couldn’t imagine a tomato and pineapple together but I also could barely fit the burger, pineapple and bun into my mouth.  One more layer was going to seriously complicate matters.

Pineapple Bacon Burger with Lettuce and Chips

This is truly the most exciting burger I have ever tasted.  I may have to make them this way forever forward!  The boring campground grill will now have a whole new life.  I suppose someone could add cheese to it but I would much rather have the pineapple and no cheese.

And now you are dying to know – the recipe!

Oh so good! Pineapple and pork is one of my favorite food combinations. I’ve made a similar type burger before where I’ve added teriyaki sauce to the beef too.

These sound delicious! I bet that the pineapple gives a nice flavor that complements this well. I can’t wait to try it!

This sounds and looks so so good. I love a little bit of sweetness to my meats and the pineapple would be perfect. Thanks for sharing.
