Our Dog Definitely Thinks She is Human

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tender & True Pet Nutrition for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have always had multiple dogs at a time – usually as many as five.  However, as our special needs children are getting older and requiring more of our attention we have managed to get down to one dog.  Now we could easily get at least another dog or two but once we were down to one dog – Xena took on an entirely different personality.  She craves all the attention she can get and – she gets it!  She is always the center of attention!   We have a GPS app set up on our phones.  Whenever one of us is coming home the other family members’ phones all receive a notification saying so and so is home.  When that notification goes off she starts crying until that person appears inside the house.  She can barely contain her excitement while she waits for us.   Once we are home she wants to participate in anything we do.  If we are laying on the lawn enjoying the sun – so is she!  She is actually the ultimate sun bathing beauty!

If I am pitching balls to the kids so they can practice hitting – she is right there on the pitching “mound” with me.   If I am doing a hula hoop – she is right there in the center of the hula hoop with me… When my daughter is reading – she sits right by her side to listen to the story too.  Sometimes she even likes to do her own reading!

When it is time to party – she is already ready to join in the fun…

And when we break out the backdrops or cameras – she is very well aware that it is time to get to work and start modeling!  She never misses an opportunity to get in front of the camera!

My dad has a dog that definitely thinks she’s human and she now rules his house LOL! Love dogs personalities and how beautiful their relationships can be with their owners.

  2. Claudia Krusch says:

Your dog is so adorable. I had a little dog that was convinced she was human. She would watch TV with us every evening.

  3. Lalia Frolick says:

What a cutie! Your dog looks like such a sweetheart. I don’t know that I’ve ever met a dog who DOESN’T think they’re human ;). Most (if not all) of the canines I’ve lived with since my childhood certainly thought of themselves as truly being part of the pack, like Xena.

  4. Dean of Little Steps says:

Most times I think our dog knows he’s a dog, although we do get glimpses of “hey I’m human too”, especially when he decides to wee in the bathroom. Too bad, he hasn’t figured out how to use the toilet yet!

  5. Echo says:

This is so sweet! We have 2 dogs, but they both think they need as much attention, if not more, than the two kids that we do have! They are definitely members of our family though!

  6. Alayna Frankenberry says:

After careful review, I have decided that your dog is in fact a people. I hope you will allow her to sit on the couch and have some pizza like a people. (I promise she didn’t tell me to write that.)

Tender & True sounds like a great dog food and something I will have to check out for my dog. I love that it is made with only organic products and no fillers, corn, or soy. Your dog is so adorable in these photos especially the one with her wearing glasses listening to your daughter reading the book. Thanks for sharing the information and Xena Lee.
