What About The What Ifs? #JennyLife #ad

This is a sponsored post with Jenny Life Insurance and BraVoMark. All opinions are mine.

When I was a teenager, none of us even gave a thought to being mortal.  Although I was very much a rule follower, many of my peers weren’t and as a result they thought they were invincible.  Unfortunately, some of them never made it to their high school graduation.  All very tragic but teens always think they are invincible.

Once I became a parent though, it became clear that not only was I not invincible, but I couldn’t afford to believe I was.  I have responsibilities now.  But even more important – our youngest two children have extreme special needs and my in-laws live with us and rely on us for their care on a daily basis.  There is not a day that goes by when my husband and I don’t worry about the “what ifs”?  What if one of us were gone?  It can definitely happen and how would the other carry on with all the bills and responsibilities for so many other persons?  That doesn’t even count our responsibility for our dogs and horses!

Not to mention we have three older children who may need some support if something happened to one or both of us.  Some people would need to worry about how to make sure their children are able to attend college, or finish college.  For us, we need to make sure my husband’s parents have a way to live out their days comfortably;  we need to make sure our children have the ability to have a roof over their heads; a trust fund to help them with their basic needs in the event there is no one to help them via state support; we need to make sure there is someone to care for them until they are able to care for themselves – if that becomes possible.

Sometimes the stress of making sure… can be overwhelming.  But we can never be 100% sure of tomorrow…

Did you know there were an estimated 40,100 motor vehicle deaths last year. Only a 1 percent drop from the prior year. (source)

Did you know Americans die with an average debt of $62,000? How will we plan for that?  For me – I have lost more family members to heart disease and cancer – According to Medical News Today, over 727,000 people pass away each year from cancer or accidental causes in the U.S.

To plan for this possibility we must have life insurance.  Sure my husband and I both have life insurance through out employer’s but that is not nearly enough – it isn’t something we could solely rely on.  Jenny Life Insurance can definitely be there for families to plan accordingly.

Since becoming a mother and having three kids, thinking of my kids driving terrifies me. Especially since now it’s all about smartphones and distractions. Life Insurance is something to seriously think about when you become a parent. I am sorry for your losses.

  2. 1stopmom says:

As a mom of four and grandma of two I definitely think about the what ifs. I don’t feel like we have enough insurance and need to look into getting more.

  3. Mary says:

It’s scary to think about what may happen in the future, especially when you have others to care for. At least the “what ifs” keep us prepared.

  4. What Corinne Did says:

When I drive, i have the ‘what ifs’ in mind. I know a small mistake or just negligence can have me in an accidence or killed. And those with me hurt so I am super careful. I was covered by my parent insurance when i was under age but now, i would not know

My whole outlook on life insurance changed the moment I had my first child. You are so right on the what if’s and wanting them to be taken care of and / or not leaving them with huge debts.

  6. Blair Villanueva says:

Having an insurance is a good investment. I think nowadays, we should teach the value of insurance to kids even at early age, so that they include it to their goals.
Its better to be prepared for the future.

It’s scary but it is the reality we have to face. Life Insurance is important. Whatever happen to me or us, we will not burden those whom we left behind, financially.

  8. KRYSTLE COOK says:

I think life insurance is SO important! Especially when one spouse makes a great deal more than the other. If something were to happen to that person, the rest of the family would be in trouble.

I always seem to be worrying about one thing or another and wondering “what if”. I definitely don’t tend to live in the moment very much.
