Our lives are so incredibly busy and hectic. The last month of school and the beginning of camping season make the time constraints that much more tight. We never seem to have enough time. But, we place a priority on trying to eat home cooked meals as frequently as possible. In order to make this possible we rely on slow cookers, all in one pan meals, pressure cookers and more. Best part of all of these options is they are completely doable at the campground too. Let’s take a moment to Upgrade Your Summer!
Today, I am bringing you this awesome dish with Johnsonville Brats (Original) and 7UP®.
On the weekends I spend hours taking care of all our horses so I love slow cookers – I can set it and go in order to have a full meal by the time I return from the barn. But you could also make this in a single casserole style pan in the oven.
This recipe calls for the following:
- Two packages of Johnsonville Original Brats
- Two cans of 7UP
- One onion
- One green pepper
- One red pepper
- Two packages of medley carrots
Since I am always running, it was faster and easier to purchase pre-cut onions and peppers. Usually I cut them myself but lots to do at the barn today…
I layer the brats on the bottom of the pan, then layer the carrots and lastly the remaining veggies – peppers and onions. Why Johnsonville Brats? They are made of premium pork from US and Canadian farms and are a trusted brand from a family-owned company started in 1945 while having always been made here in the US Heartland. They are also gluten free!
Pour each can of 7UP® directly over the entire contents. 7UP® products are made with the highest-quality ingredients. Whatever the flavor, every can is crisp, clean, and refreshing.
7UP is a registered trademark of Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. ©2017 Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc.
Cover and cook. If in a slow cooker (I used a casserole style slow cooker) – cook on high for 3 to 3.5 hours. If in the oven – 400F degrees for approximately 40-50 minutes.
And of course when you are done – treat yourself to a nice 7UP beverage – Refresh yourself with an Original 7UP® with 100% natural flavors and its iconic lemon lime flavor!
Everyone gets to have a great dinner and it isn’t fast food! Another option is to cook it without the carrots all bundled up in aluminum foil on the grill! As you can see this is the perfect recipe for summer fun! We incorporate 7UP into so many recipes so we always keep it on hand at home and while camping! You can actually find quite a few recipes on The Stuff of Success incorporating 7UP and they are all delicious and easy! And Johnsonville products are perfect at home and for camping – when we go camping we (the seasonal campers) all have gatherings on Saturday nights and this is the perfect recipe to share with all our friends. Johnsonville Brats and 7UP can be found at Walmart. I find Walmart to be the most convenient for shopping, especially when we are camping. I don’t have to waste time going to multiple stores – I can easily grab groceries and camping supplies from the same location! Shopping was easy and convenient at Walmart. It was easy to spot the 7UP and Johnsonville Brats – they were exactly where I anticipated they’d be. I love that Walmart provides the option of registers as well as self checkout – perfect for when I am in a hurry to get to the barn or somewhere else!
