How to Keep Yourself Entertained in your PG in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, popularly known as Vizag is one of the oldest port cities in the country besides being home to the oldest shipyard of India. Lying between the Eastern Ghats and the coast of the Bay of Bengal, the city is the fifth busiest cargo port in India. It is nicknamed the `City of Destiny’ because of its beautiful landscape, flourishing sea trade, and attractive beaches.

Vizag has a good mix of a cosmopolitan population from all parts of the country, many of whom have migrated to the city mainly for education and jobs. The biggest challenge faced by young migrants to the city is finding the right accommodation. It should not only be centrally located but should have all the modern amenities to make life easier and more comfortable and more importantly fit into their budget. But no longer is the best PG in Vizag just a four-wall space with ‘decent’ infrastructure and basic services. Professionally managed accommodation options have taken over the city to offer a branded living experience. They offer a host of services like food, housekeeping, Wi-Fi connectivity, laundry, security, maintenance, etc.  They have open spaces, common areas, fitness centers and frequently organize social activities, giving residents a feeling of living in a vibrant community. So, to enjoy the best living experience in Vizag, you should book a space with managed accommodation operators like Stanza Living.

Once you’ve settled in Vizag and are comfortable moving around the city, here are some of the things you could do during your weekends:

One of the first things you could do is to visit the Submarine Museum, one of its kind in the country, inside a real (decommissioned) Russian sub. You will get a guided tour from a retired Naval personnel. You will learn about the life and routine of a sailor inside a submarine besides learning about the operating system of a submarine.

If you are an outdoor sports enthusiast, then check out Rushikonda Beach, where you can go water skiing, wind surfing, parasailing, jet skiing. It’s great fun and gets your adrenaline pumping. In case all these activities make you hungry, savor traditional Andhra seafood at one of the many shacks on the beach.

One more great place to hang out is the Rama Krishna Beach, which is in the heart of the city. The beach is buzzing with life as people flock there in hordes especially in the evenings to catch a glimpse of the sunset and enjoy the cool sea breeze while eating the local cuisine on the beach.

Another must-visit place is the Borra Caves which are the deepest caves in India. These dark caves made of stalactites and stalagmites will make you feel like you have stepped on the surface of an alien planet. The limestone formations in the caves get lit up and sparkle in the light. There is even a natural stalagmite lingam inside the caves which people worship.

Vizag is a foodie’s paradise. Ranging from street food to fine dining options, you can grab a meal to suit every palate. Mouthwatering kebabs, seafood delicacies, Dosa, and Idlis to spice Andhraite fare – there are plenty of options for all.

There are also of course the usual student hubs – cool cafes, upcoming entertainment areas, hobby clubs, gaming zones, etc – where you can spend time with friends.

And when you are done hanging around the city, hit the many social events organized in your Stanza Living residences. Or you could even grab a book or plug in some music and find a quiet niche in the residence to spend a lazy afternoon.

Undoubtedly, everyone can find something to do to their liking. I would really advise you to discover such a wonderful sport as SUP. If you like it-be sure to buy your own equipment for more comfortable activities
