Air Fryer Corn On The Cob With The JoyOuce Air Fryer

We are a family of five who all eat different things.  I swear I need to be a sous chef every night to make dinner.  I prefer vegan, my daughter and husband meat/seafood, my son carbs, and my mother-in-law baked goods.  Fortunately, I work from home, so I can take the time to meet all these dietary preferences, but what a chore it would be if I still worked a 9 to 5.

It helps tremendously having a JoyOuce Air Fryer! Cooking time is less, and the food is more healthy.  Everyone can have whatever they want, and it is easy enough to whip it up.  Best of all, my kids are 16 and 20 years old and perfectly capable of operating the air fryer without me.

Air Fryers

When looking for a new cooking appliance for your home, you may be tempted to purchase an air fryer, as it looks like a much better choice than a traditional wok or frying pan. These types of appliances are attractive and handy and are also healthier than cooking with other pots and pans. However, many cooks are unaware of the benefits of an air fryer and what it can do for your and your family’s health. Knowing the health benefits can help you decide if this type of appliance is right for you. Here are some benefits of an air fryer that may interest you.

Air Fryer Benefits

Controlling the temperature is essential when you are cooking foods like french fries or deep-fried chicken. An air fryer can effectively lower the temperature so that you do not end up with an oily mess on the floor.

Cooking your favorite foods without using any oil is a great way to save money. It is a lot less expensive to cook your favorite foods without any oil than buying expensive oil every few days. Air fryers are ideal for cooking deep-fried foods as they will not drip or splatter.

Another advantage that you can get from owning this kitchen appliance is that it heats the food quickly and evenly, so you don’t have to overheat or undercook any of your food. Since the heat circulates the kitchen, there is almost no chance that you will burn your food. There are various JoyuOuce models you can choose from, so the only thing you have to do is look for the best one that will give you the benefits you want most.

JoyOuce Air Fryer

I have the JoyOuce 5.8QT XL Air Fryer, and it is perfect for our family of five. This is 1700W and perfect for roasting, baking, or grilling.  It is available in white or black and we have the white version.  It generates a 360° hot air vortex that cooks food thoroughly and is oil-free! For steak, chicken, fish, veggies, fries, homemade pizza, cakes or desserts, and making crisp meals.

It is important to note when you use this air fryer (any air fryer) you need to leave plenty of space around the air fryer for the hot air to circulate.  Keep it away from walls, not on the stove etc.  I use mine on the kitchen table with space on all sides.

The JoyOuce Air Fryer is available on Amazon or on their website.

When cooking with an air fryer it can be a bit of trial and error as far as cooking temperature and duration. Here are some tips for your air frying journey:

This air fryer is so easy and intuitive to use. Simply use the preset buttons or select a temperature and time for your cooking. The 8 presets are even photos so the user doesn’t need to be able to read to operate the air fryer.  It is easy to use but please do not allow a younger child to use it – the heat is significant and could potentially result in injury.  I have teens so they have no problem understanding cooking safety.

Air Fryer Corn On The Cob

I know most people boil their corn but we almost never do.  First, it is not unusual for my daughter and me to eat corn on the cob raw.  While we shuck the corn we inevitably grab one each and eat it right away.  Seriously if you have never eaten raw corn on the cob it has a unique sweetness that is sure to please.

Other times we cook corn on the cob on the grill.  We soak the corn (in its husk) in water for about a half-hour.  Then each cob (still in the husk) gets wrapped in aluminum foil and placed on the grill.  It gets cooks on the grill for about a half-hour – essentially steaming within the foil.

Although I love corn on the grill – I don’t use the grill, my husband does.

Prepping The Air Fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees F for five minutes.

Once the five minutes is over, place shucked corn inside the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes at 390 degrees F.

My air fryer is XL but if you have a smaller air fryer you may need to break the cobs in half prior to placing them in the basket.

At the end of an air fryer cycle, there is a short cool-down period where the fan is running.  Don’t open the basket until the cycle completes.

parmesan corn on the cob

Once the corn is done, eat it however you’d like.  My daughter and I love it with melted butter, fresh parmesan, and fresh ground pepper.
