I have dealt with acne, blemishes, blackheads, etc. ever since I hit puberty. With an extremely oily and pimple prone skin, it seemed as if I was always applying some cream or ointment. The problem worsened when we had to spend long hours under the sun at school, during the physical education class or practicing for our annual sports meet.

 

What happened to my skin?

 

By the time I graduated, my overall skin quality had severely deteriorated. Slapping on oodles of sunscreen prevented further damage, but the underlying harm during my teens remained intact. Honestly, my friends, family, and cousins jumped in to help me by suggesting useful remedies, and I did my part by looking online for a comprehensive and helpful skincare regimen that I could stick to. A few of those beauty tips did work, but the core problem was unyielding and even more stubborn than I am (perhaps a payback by the Almighty!)

 

How I learned of this book…

 

At one point I had had enough! I wanted to make it all go away and have healthy, supple, and glowing skin without dealing with acne. Even it isn’t possible to change the skin type, I wanted noticeable and long-term improvements – I was sick of experimenting since the final outcome was always zero. Thanks to my college roomie Rachel, I got a brilliant resource that provided me with all the solutions I was looking for – a book called The Skin Regime: Boot Camp for Beautiful Skin.

 

An eye-opener it is!

 

Putting it in a nutshell, I have summarized these points:

 

  • Explains all technicalities about skincare and beauty, in a simple language so they are easy to understand.
  • Recommends quick and effective home remedies for healthier skin, fashioned from inexpensive items available online or at medical shops.
  • Exposes beauty-related misconceptions and refutes them with iron-clad logic.
  • Talks about skincare of the whole body – not just the face, neck, or arms.
  • Bonus: a free sample of the 1-4-All Peel, which works wonders for the skin – it is applied in layers, which determines if it is mild or strong.

 

Being the eternal skeptic, I wasn’t too sure if it would be helpful even when I discovered it was one of the best-selling books regarding beauty and skincare on Amazon. Dana Ramos, with creative input from Dr. David Bank has penned a wonderful book indeed. After wasting time, effort, and hard cash due to following useless techniques for years, this book was a divine intervention, which stopped me from unknowingly damaging my skin and spending money unnecessarily!
