4 Signs You Have a Rodent Infestation in Your Property

No one wants to live in a home that feels dirty or uncomfortable, which is why you make the effort to keep your house clean and create that ideal living environment for you to enjoy. However, even if you do keep your house tidy and free from dirt, that doesn’t mean you still can’t find uninvited vermin hiding in your walls or the dark corners of your storage spaces. Although keeping your house clean will reduce the likelihood of a pest infestation, creepy crawlies and rodents can still find their way into your property to nest. 1.   You Find Droppings in Your Home

This is a very unpleasant surprise, but one of the most obvious signs that you have a rodent infestation is finding droppings in your home. They are likely to be in more hidden away places, such as the corners of the room, but you might also notice them on kitchen countertops, in cupboards, etc. Clean this up immediately (wearing gloves), with anti-bacterial wipes, to sanitize the areas. You should also think about laying traps in these spots in case the rodents return.

2.   Gnawing Marks

Another thing you may notice if you have rodents in your home is gnawing marks on cardboard and surfaces. 3.   Hearing noises in your Walls, under Floorboards, or in the Attic

If you can hear a rustling sound or scurrying noises, chances are, that you do have pests living somewhere on your property. If you can, see where the noise is most active, but be aware that mice and rats will move around to find food. You may notice that this activity is more prevalent at night when the rest of the house is quiet. Double-check your attic space, basement, or wherever you think they could be hiding. If you can see holes in your walls or floorboards where they might be getting in, fill them in to make it harder for the rodents to find access points. Don’t be fooled though – rats and mice breed rapidly, so just because some have died, it doesn’t mean your home is free of them.
