Mash-Up Art Pack – Paint and Pastels
Do you have a family member who loves art? I do – my teenage daughter can’t get enough of it. Every time she gets her allowance the first thing we do is head to the store to buy more canvas’. Maybe some day she will be a female version of Picasso! I don’t think she has settled on a media just yet. She pretty much does it all – pencil, charcoal, pastels, acrylic paints, water paints, oil paints and more. This week she has a trip to Maine with school and brought this along. The forecast is calling for a great deal of rain up North and I know this…

Introducing Our Children To Art
My husband and I have been married for 30 years next month. Not sure how 30 years have passed – seriously feels like just a few years. However, I see the years in our children who range in age from 15 to 33. It is difficult to ignore 30 years passing when we now have grandchildren and are sandwiched within 4 generations. Once our oldest two children were old enough and my husband had returned to college for his Masters degree – he took a course in art. I really don’t recall the name of the course but what it did was prompt us as a family going to as…

Welcome To Camp Warner Bros. #CampWarnerBros
Are your kids home for the summer? Are they missing out on summer camp? Have no fear – Camp Warner Bros. is here! I don’t know about you but my kids have been cooped up in the house since March and they (and I) are feeling every bit of it. We do have three horses so we do get out of the house occasionally but not for something like camp, school, recreation etc… With all these changes and losses we have been able to experience so many great firsts. Thing about how we now were able to do graduations? Instead of a high school graduation being just for the family…

Getting Into Rock Painting With My Triton Paint Pens #paintpens #paintmarkers #tritontradingcompany
Have you been lucky enough to find a painted rock or many rocks in the last year or two? They are definitely the latest fad and I have to say – finding a painted rock really does just make your day. The premise is you paint a rock and hide it for someone else to find. When they find it they are supposed to re-hide it for someone else to find. Sort of a plan to continually pay it forward. It can be alot of fun. Some rocks even have information on the back – like a Facebook group where you are supposed to say where you found it and…

Boston Museum of Science – 2019 Staycation
Over April vacation we had the fortunate opportunity to go to the Boston Museum of Science. I was thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity to the kids and we are very thankful. When I was younger I went to the Boston Museum of Science at least once a year. Between field trips for school and field trips for recreation there were so many chances to go. I can tell you the museum has changed so much. First, I remember it being awesome but I definitely don’t remember it being this big so it must have gone through some expansions over the years. The last time I went was…

Getting Back To My Drawing…
Years ago I used to draw all the time – I wouldn’t go anywhere without my sketch pad, pencils, charcoals, pastels and more. That was so many years ago. In fact, my parents were sure I was going to go to college for art or to be an art teacher. Instead I went to school for law, then switched to engineering, then switched to business. Long stories… I did however take art classes in college every chance I got with my electives. Two things I learned – 1 – I love art; 2 – I wouldn’t love art if I had to do it for a career. Now our youngest…

The Photographer’s Eye
I will start by saying that I don’t necessarily consider myself a photographer. Having said that – apparently many people do I am often contacted with requests for my photos or requests for photo sessions. I almost never accept requests for photo sessions of people – I don’t consider that “my thing”. However, on occasion I will accept these requests as long as they are not in a building… I know that makes sense but I tend to “specialize” in outdoor photography – the whole “one with nature” theme. Additionally, I don’t put a great deal of effort into editing my photos – sometimes I will add some filters but…
