Dollar Store Holiday Door Decoration
This was a really easy project and just $3. I would love to say I came up with the idea all by myself but the idea began with HERE and I made some modifications. So if you would like a second idea, check that one out. This project was entirely from Dollar Tree with the exception of the ribbon which I had on hand. But if you need ribbon – you can get that at Dollar Tree too. The first layer is a large felt ornament. The second layer is a plastic snowflake star shaped ornament. The top layer is a door knocker with some bells. Simply use a…

Fear of the Dark Assistance
My youngest child is extremely afraid of anything and everything at bedtime. You name it – we have tried it. And the solution one night is not the solution that works another night. This solution seems to stand the test of time though as long as it is coupled with other things such as a dream catcher (do not move the dream catcher). We have an old house so there aren’t many outlets in her room – actually there aren’t many anywhere. It drives me crazy. The dollar store has carried glow sticks for over a year now. They carry a wide variety but the ones I care about are…

Dollar Store personalized dishes
This is one of my favorite projects because it allows for so much of my children’s personalities to shine through. First, you purchase some dishes from the dollar store. I have used white, colored or some with designs – makes no difference. Whatever your passion is. You can choose, dishes, bowls, mugs, platters or whatever. You then need a Porcelain Marker – they come in many colors. The only place I have been able to find them is Michaels Crafts. I assume AC Moore would also have them but I don’t have one of those chain stores near me. Don’t even waste your time searching the store for them –…

Thumb Tack Wreath
I don’t usually sit still long enough to finish a project like this but fortunately there was something on TV worth sitting for. I saw this thumb tack wreath on dollarstorecrafts and thought I would like to try it. It was certainly easy enough to do but halfway through I was like “really?” I was so ready to throw it out. Crocheting was more entertaining than putting 1,000 (literally) tacks into a circle piece of styrofoam. But the end result is certainly pretty. You can pick up thumb tacks anywhere – but they were $1 for 300 at the dollar store and I used 1,000. The styrofoam wreath mold was…
