    More Uses for Duck Tape

I have always enjoyed working with duck tape – you name it I can come up with a duck tape use for it.  At one point I had a supply of forty colors.  I don’t have quite that many any more.  Now you can simply pick up colors and patterns at Walmart – back then I had to special order them online and buying in bulk made a lot more sense.  But no worries because I still always have more than enough variety on hand to accomplish my desires.Making a duck tape bow is one of the easiest duck tape projects.  First you cut (or rip) a piece of your…

    How To Make A Baton

I am on a bit of a PVC pipe kick right now.  There really are so many possibilities with PVC pipe.  I just can’t get enough of it.  Today’s project is a baton.  I had a baton as a little girl but my daughters have never had one.  They just don’t seem to be as popular nowadays as they were when I was little.  When I was a child every little girl had a baton.  You could never go to a parade without seeing twirlers.  To make the baton I used a 1/2 PVC pipe – 2 foot length.  I simply capped the ends with PVC caps and decorated with…

    Sensory Water Bed

I have seen this in several locations around Pinterest such as HERE.  Mine did not come out nearly as nicely.  But I am sure I had several more obstacles than they did.  First I bought a heavy duty plastic sheet, 10×25, folded it in half and duct taped it together (like making a big pillow) but left a tiny opening for a hose.  Taping it up was not as easy as everyone else makes it sound.  Even with the help of my kids it was tough because we had the dogs stomping on it and us the entire time.  They were very intrigued by the plastic.  They just bull doze…

    Make Your Own Thunder Sticks

Have you ever gone to a professional game and many of the guests had the blow up thunder sticks?  They are sticks that when you bang them together make a very loud noise.  Basically, allows you to clap way louder than you possibly can with just your hands.  Problem is after slamming them together, they lose air very quickly and one of my kids, if not both, always end up crying because theirs is broken.  No problem – I just made my own.  Purchase a length of pipe insulation.  It is really cheap and makes two full sets of thunder sticks.  It should cost only about $1.30.  Cut that length…

    Duct Tape Roses

Today we are viewing duct tape roses – this is a very easy project that my six year old can do.  You start with a straw and cover it with green duct tape – easiest to do with just one long lengthwise strip.  Then you choose a color for your rose.  You rip or cut ALOT of squares – approximately 1 1/2 inches.  The first square you fold down one corner leaving approximately a 1/2 inch at the bottom (adhesive showing) then fold down a second corner (for example first a top right corner then a top left corner) – still leaving that strip of adhesive showing.  For the first…

    The huge dog pillow

Out of necessity I decided to make an indestructible dog pillow.  I didn’t win that pursuit by the way.  But here is the path I chose.  We have a huge English Mastiff – who incidentally is still not one year old.  I don’t know officially how much she weights but I assume between 160 and 170 based on the way she pushes her weight around.  You know those movies where this tiny little many tries to punch this huge muscle bound guy and the big guy doesn’t even budge?… Well that is Chewbacca Bayley.  We can be trying with all our might to get through her, around her, by her…
