Sifting Through The Chaos – Memorial Day Weekend 2014

For Memorial Day weekend we headed to Maine.  But naturally nothing is ever easy for us.  As soon as we got to Maine we had an emergency situation, at the campground, requiring emergency assistance.  We caused quite a stir at the campground until midnight.  But everyone is okay. Then Saturday I decided to take Bob and Seph for ice cream and this is what happened to the suburban.  You can see there is not nearly enough room for me to back the suburban properly into that space.  But who knew they would even have a space that had this type of setup.  This is the first year that pole was…

Did I Really Just Do That? You Wouldn’t Believe It!

Today was a busy day – work was a normal day but afterwards – “normal” (at least our normal) but so incredibly busy. First it was a race after work to get to CVS to pick up prescriptions for everyone in the house.  Then I needed to run to my cousin’s photography studio to give her the gift basket for her event this weekend.  THEN run to pick up Sephora (then Anthony and Bob) to run to the thrift store to find a “costume” for her in the play.  Of course I waited until the last minute – that is just how it is for us. Good news – found…

Should Have Been an Uneventful Eye Surgery…

So the other day I had eye surgery to remove subcapsular cataracts and replace a lens.  I had my left eye done last year and now it was time to do my right eye.  I wasn’t nervous at all since the left eye was so incredibly uneventful. The surgery went smoothly and there were no surprises.  Everything worked out. For my followup appointment the next day they immediately determined my vision was already 20/20 and my eye wasn’t even healed yet (it takes longer than 24 hours to heal).  Perfect.  The only tiny issue was that pressure was building in my eye. The doctor then numbed my eye with eyedrops…

How Many Times Should I Be Expected to Pay For Something?!

Get a load of this!  Last year I purchased the digital downloads of season 1 and 2 of Big Bang Theory in January 2013 from Amazon’s Instant Video to download on our Kindles for all our traveling.  Since then we deleted them off our Kindles because they take up so much space but they have still been sitting in our Cloud available for us to re-download when ready. In early April this month my son downloaded the seasons on to his Kindle so he could watch them while traveling.  That is the only device they are on. Last night I get a letter in the mail from Metrocast (our…

Sifting Through The Chaos – A Sickly Sunday

Sephora was up all night with the stomach bug.  She never complained – around 8am this morning when she vomited again she says “I think I may be getting sick”…  Hmmm.  I wonder why she didn’t think she was sick before that point? She has spent the entire day in bed and Anthony had another day of escalation.  I don’t know what is going on with him.  But with Seph sick and Anthony in his room – the rest of the day is pretty uneventful. Bob and I went and picked out two refrigerators to replace the two with broken freezers.  I was able to clean up Sephora’s room…

Sifting Through The Chaos – Will We Make It To The Anniversary Party? Two Guesses…

A day in our life includes meds for special needs children, appointments, classes, social stuff, naps, and more.  Today was one of those days.  Trying to work through a med change with our daughter, a med change with our son, having snow tires removed from the vehicles, first communion class, an anniversary party and more. Sephora’s first communion class was this morning at 10am.  However, as soon as she takes her morning meds she needs to take a nap – truly cannot keep her head up for one more minute.  I took her to the class (parent involvement) but the entire time I was trying to keep her awake.  The…

Sifting Through The Chaos – A New TSOS Series

For the last year I ran a “photo of the day” series and I had a blast doing it.  I did not miss one day, though many times I came quite close. I have been sick for a week and have been taking that time to determine if I was going to do the Photo a Day for another year or if I was going to switch it up with a different focus.  Since you are reading this post – it is clear that I have opted for a different focus (though you will still see plenty of photos  – I am way to passionate about that to give it…
