Favorite Winter Treat – Toasted Cinnamon Pecans
This winter we waited a long time for snow – then it finally arrived with a bang. We have no snow this week and actually we have very nice weather. But next week – possible snow again. In fact a couple days ago the kids had a horse show in 60 degree temps. As I am getting ready to head to Florida over the weekend I sit and think to myself – Why not whip up a batch of Toasted Cinnamon Pecans – perfect for a cool winter evening. These are so awesome, my daughter can’t stop eating them so I am sure I will be making another…

Sundays With Sephora – Ooey Gooey Blueberry Fruit Squares
Blueberry Fruit Squares Needless to say this is our favorite dessert of all time… WARNING – extremely fattening which is why we only make it approximately twice per year or for events when the leftovers do not come home. This is one of those recipes that I keep in my head and sometimes alter slightly – have fun with it. Ingredients: 2 sticks butter at room temperature 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 3 cups flour 1 can fruit pie filling Sometimes I add a little vanilla – today I did not Mix the sugar and butter together. As you are mixing, start adding in one egg at a time.…

Sundays With Sephora – Easy Macaroni and Cheese
This is a spinoff Campbell’s Macaroni and Cheese. My kids love that orange boxed macaroni and cheese. I hate making that for them. I swear there must be something addictive in the ingredients since I cannot seem to get my kids to stop begging for it every single meal (and no they do not get it every single meal). So I am on a mission to find a recipe that doesn’t take hours – that everyone likes. This is a really easy one and actually quite good. My son prefers it without the topping but he will eat it if I make it this way. For him – it is…

Sundays With Sephora – Making Mini Pizzas
These mini pizzas are terrific and easy. First, Sephora opened up a can of Pillsbury Grand Biscuits. Then we split each one in half and rolled it out flat – placing the flattened biscuit into a whoopie pie pan. Topped with pizza sauce, cheese and hamburger. Bake until dough is cooked through (approximately 15 minutes). Serve.

Sundays With Sephora – Gummy Bear Soda Ice Pops
Sephora loves her popsicles and a bloggie friend of mine (thanks Edee of Stuckathomemom.com) posted this “recipe” so of course she had to make it. What you see is as simple as it is – some soda (Sprite is her favorite) and some gummy bears. We bought two packages but easily could have used another. I bought everything except the Sprite at Dollar tree – three ice pop molds (which of course we will reuse) and 2 packages of gummy bears. The Sprite we had – like I said it is her favorite. Simply place some gummy bears in the mold then fill the rest with soda. Freeze for about…

Make your basic brownie mix – this one is milk chocolate – and stick a vanilla double stuffed oreo in the middle – then bake. Totally delicious!

Sundays With Sephora – Custom Crayons
Sephora loves to work with crayons and this was a project that she requested specifically and worked on by herself. My only job was to go to the store and purchase some really cheap crayons. She peeled the crayons and then broke each crayon into approximately 4 – 5 small pieces. She divided those pieces throughout the sections of a silicone muffin mold. Place it in the oven for approximately 20 minutes at 170 degrees. They are done when they have fully melted. Keep an eye on them though – you don’t want them staying in the oven too long after completely melting. Remove from oven and allow time to…

Sundays With Sephora – Lite Cake Batter Dip
This is an easy dip that even Sephora can whip up. The original version of this is HERE but I have modified it some to suit our tastes. 1 Package white cake mix or funfetti cake mix (I use whichever I have on hand) 2 Cups fat free plain or vanilla Greek Yogurt (Vanilla results in the dip being much sweeter) 1 Small container Lite Cool Whip Vanilla Wafers or Graham Cracker Sticks Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate until you are ready to eat or serve. Dip Vanilla Wafers or Graham Cracker stick and eat. Feel free to place sprinkles on top to decorate.

Sephora’s Candies – More Sundays with Sephora
Superbowl Sunday and Sephora was quite busy. She did her first book review on her own; put together her World Thinking Day pins for Girl Scouts; and made some candies. She relied on melted chocolate and decided to dip strawberries – her favorite fruit in the whole wide world. Then she made some heart shaped chocolates and I have no idea what she put in them. Minimally there are peanuts in them but I think she even put cereal in it to give it a crispy crunch. I have been trying to allow her to be creative and she will often say “its a surprise”. They are definitely loaded with…

Sundays With Sephora – Quadruple Oreo Peanut Butter Brownie
I printed off a recipe from allrecipes.com and it called for regular oreos, peanut butter and brownie mix. I figured this would be a great project for Sephora. EXCEPT – I prefer double stuffed oreos so I told her to substitute those instead. She is too funny – she misunderstood my verbal instructions and I was wondering what was taking her so long to just place an oreo in each of the muffin tin spots. See all the oreo TOPS – she took the tops off all of them and put two together making quadruple stuffed! Our recipe ended up being this: In each muffin spot – Place a quadruple…
