Whether you’re entertaining or looking for a way to plate dinner at home without having dishes to clean up after the meal, disposable dinnerware can be the ultimate in convenience. Unfortunately, these types of products are typically made from materials that are costly to the health of the planet.
Leafware is a unique innovation in disposable dinnerware, a line of dinner plates, servingware and flatware that is 100 percent biodegradable and compostable. The line of green disposables was inspired by the ancient art of transforming leaves into dishes, a tradition that can be traced back thousands of years throughout Asia.

All Leafware products begin as natural leaf litter that falls from trees. The leaves are collected, dried and then disinfected. After using them to serve a meal, you can compost them in your backyard or drop them off at most composting facilities to return them to the earth and let the cycle of growth continue. This was such a unique experience to done on these dishes. The kids were thrilled to try something that was disposable and safe – yet not paper or cardboard. I would love to eat each meal on this dinnerware. It is rather expensive though so it would need to be reserved for special occasions. But definitely worth the price for a special occasion and to serve all your friends and loved ones – for all of the people you care about.

I liked the post about the Leafware from The Paperless Kitchen. We never use paper plates but I would use the Leafware because it is 100 percent biodegradable and compostable. It is so cool that they can transform leaves into dishes.
This is such a unique idea. It is nice to be able to have disposables that are made out of leaves and not plastic or paper.
