Hermosa Peak Yacon Syrup is a product designed to aid in weight loss as well as diabetes and other digestive disorders. It’s not a pill, it’s a syrup that you take as a dietary supplement. Based on a study in 2009, it produced decreased body weight, and body mass index (BMI).
Yacon syrup is made from the roots of the yacon plant which is found in the Andes Mountains. It was used by the Incas and is now promoted by those in South America as a low calorie substitute for sweeteners as well as a supplement.
Yacon syrup is high in insulin and fructooligosaccharides (FOS). It helps to keep blood sugar stable and control appetite. Yacon syrup can also be used as a sugar substitute in your baked goods or on pancakes! In addition, it is suggested that you take a teaspoonful three times a day.
I have been using yacon syrup for over a week now. I used it as a substitute for some of the sugar in a cake (I was afraid to use it as a total replacement the first time). I didn’t notice a difference. Next time I’m going for an entire substitute. I also take it as a supplement. I have noticed a decrease in my appetite and look forward to the long term effects of the product.
