Every 30 minutes there is a spectacular light show at the main entrance. My kids refer to it as dancing lights. We have been to dancing light displays before but this is a unique experience to be completely surrounded in all directions by the dancing lights.
Each night there is an ice carver making a giant ice creation.
Holiday carolers performing throughout the park as well as nightly appearances by costumed guests including the Lake Compounce Mascot – Kyle the Crocodile!
Nightly activities (for a small fee) include letters to Santa, Pictures and Meet and Greet with Santa, Gingerbread House Making, Cookie Decorating and more.
Some childrens’ and family rides are open: Kiddieland rides as well as the Carousel, Train, American Flyers, Ghost Hunt, Zoomer’s Gas N’ Go, and Bumper Cars.
Winter themed food such as Egg Nog, Hot Chocolate, Soup in a Bread Bowl, milk and cookies are available for purchase. My daughter’s favorite was absolutely the sugar cookie s’mores!
We had a terrific time attending this event. The weather was cold but not as cold as it easily could have been. We arrived as soon as the park was opening on opening night. It wasn’t quite dark yet and it was amazing to see how different it looks in the winter. We had a great time. This was our first time attending such a holiday event so we didn’t realize any rides would be open. There were just enough rides open to keep the kids entertained and thrilled. However, they would have been just as thrilled to simply enjoy walking around taking in all the lighting displays, Santa, caroling and hot cocoa. The evening was quite memorable and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area of Bristol CT.
