This Rowenta iron is perfect for us.  We travel alot and no one likes to take a full size iron around with them nor do we like relying on our destination having an iron that we are comfortable using.  This iron is a mere 1.65 pounds and folds down easily to less than 8 inches.  The Microsteam soleplate allows the iron to glide along the fabric – no matter what fabric we are working with.  There is dual voltage so we always have the exact temperature we want or need.  I have had a small travel iron before that didn’t have a steam function.  This Rowenta has a powerful steam function which works great no matter what fabric I am working with.

The handle folds down making it even more portable.  I not only need to take an iron with me when we travel but also when I am headed out to sewing classes.  A nice powerful, portable iron is the perfect solution for ironing before sewing!  All my seams will lie nice and flat making sewing a perfectly straight line much more effective.  It is even designed to be easily filled from a water tap (or water fountain as is sometimes what I find myself using).  This iron also comes with a convenient pouch for carrying while traveling.
