Warm weather is coming and guess what that means? Among other things, it means frozen treats become just about a daily affair – particularly for my daughter. She LOVES frozen treats. If she had her way she would have an ice cream or a milk shake (at least 1) every single day. Clearly we can’t allow that – she isn’t concerned about her waistline just yet so I wouldn’t want to put her in a situation where she struggles later.
Nowadays there is absolutely no reason to overeat on high calorie frozen foods. There are so many commercial items available plus we often resort to making our own. Every time we make smoothies – freeze some; jello or pudding – freeze some. They all make delicious lower calorie treats.
Today I would love to introduce you to ProBugs Frozen Kefir. I had never even heard of kefir before trying this product. Kefir is a tart and tangy cultured milk smoothie that is high in protein, calcium and vitamin D. They are full of probiotics to help keep a healthy GI system as well as the ability to make a person feel more full and reduce hunger cravings. We are a family of lactose intolerant individuals and kefir breaks down the milk sugars to further support digestion. Kefir is loaded with tryptophan, the amino acid that helps raise the levels of serotonin in your brain.
ProBugs Frozen Kefir are now a favorite of my daughter’s. She couldn’t believe how awesome they were – clearly she gave them the ole thumbs up. As soon as I opened the box she was practically drooling by my side. As a blogger though I need to make her hit the brakes so I can get photos and be satisfied that I have what I need before she can fully dive in. In the photo you see her eating Strawnana Split.
Other flavors include Orange Creamy Crawler and Goo Berry Pie. Yup – we definitely need to try them all. I can find them near me at Walmart, Stop and Shop, Big Y, Price Chopper… Check their store locator for stores near you. In addition to Frozen ProBugs they also have ProBugs Blast (smoothie like) and ProBugs (yogurt like).
