Magic Forest Brings Us Mama Owl and Baby GIVEAWAY
As technology starts to run the world and outside games have turned to a tv and the best type of graphics we sometimes forget the importance of imagination. As Albert Einstien said “I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” This isn’t truer than in the lives of our children and growing youth as a whole. It is our job as adults to find activities that nurture this and allow it to grow.
Trudi is one of the companies that assist in this task. They have created a puppet that not only allows interaction between children and their imagination but the adults in their lives as well. My favorite of their wide selection of creative puppet animals would have to be their Mama Owl and Baby. These little puppets are not only a cute overload but puppets have been proven to assist in several forms of development in children from infant to toddlers. The use of puppets in creative dialog with this age group boosts empathy, expression of feelings, social and language skills and creativity.
On top of that, if that is not enough for you, puppets increase motor skills that will be utilized in the child’s future lives. I mean have you ever tried moving wings and a head on a puppet owl all at the same time? It is a bit harder than it sounds. As well at the developmental benefits this mama and baby pair are made perfectly. The baby looks like a little ball of fluff that anyone would want to pick up and tote around.
Not to mention both it and its mother are dynamically correct as far as looking like the real deal. No random purple and blue owls here. This aids in the child’s knowledge of real live animals around them. Wouldn’t it be cool to be walking in a zoo with your child and them be able to say, “look mama that is an owl like mine at home!” We want to nurture our children in all ways, including if not most importantly their minds. With all of this in mind I know there are parents out there that don’t have a large budget, but don’t worry.
This puppet pair is so adorable. My daughter has been sneaking them into her backpack for school for the last week. She doesn’t even take them out because she isn’t allowed to but she feels a certain comfort just having them around and by her side. The mama puppet is super soft and very flexible – not stiff at all. The puppet can be easily manipulated by young/little hands. I find puppets particularly helpful with special needs children. You would be surprised what a child is willing to divulge to a puppy, especially a mama puppet, that they may not otherwise divulge. This puppet set is perfect for these types of conversations.

I would like to win the Mama and Baby Plush Puppet Set for a couple of reasons. The first is that I love Owls and have been collecting them for over 20 years. The second is I would love to put on a puppet show for my grandchildren. I know exactly how I would do it and include the kids in the Owls story of her baby.
