The digital display is large and easy to read – awesome for those of us that find ourselves slightly vision impaired… I often get nervous when cooking that my meat or chicken may be a little less cooked than it should be.  The last thing I need is for my family to get sick because I didn’t cook my meat completely.  I spent a fair amount of my college years, food poisoning myself… Part of the issue is that I am not a huge meat eater – but my family certainly is.  The temps are measured rapidly – I am not a very patient person so this is a great feature and it is accurate.

At this time of year we are primarily using it while cooking on the grill – it is camping season and the grill is our main method of cooking. Now we can be sure the food is all cooked perfectly.  It is easy for something to be not thoroughly cooked when using the grill.  Not anymore…
