Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie With Wyman’s Of Maine #Wymans

Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie

One of my favorite treats is a nice healthy smoothie and now that my daughter’s both started drinking them too I have two more reasons to enjoy them and play around creating new versions!

This Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie is made with my favorite blueberries – Wyman’s of Maine Fresh Frozen Wild Blueberries.  We camp in Maine 6 months per year and our campsite actually has quite a few wild blueberry bushes – we anxiously await those blueberries each year.  We never get to bake with them or create recipes with them though because the kids all seem to eat them as they pick them…  In fact there are some mornings I never even get to see a ripe blueberry – they all run outside and grab them as soon as the sun rises.

This particular smoothie is designed to help my digestion.  So I built the recipe around Wyman’s blueberries and frozen pineapples (good for digestion).  It also helps to have a really awesome blender and I use this Blendtec Blender to get the smoothest smoothies imaginable.

Drinking my smoothie

For this smoothie I take the following and place in the blender in any order – and blend until smooth!  The result is a rich, delicious and filling smoothie that also aids my digestion.

1/2 cup non fat vanilla yogurt (you may opt to use Greek Yogurt but I prefer regular yogurt)

1 tablespoon nut butter (almond, sunflower, peanut butter, soy)

1/2 cup Wyman’s of Maine Fresh Frozen Wild Blueberries

1/2 cup frozen pineapples

1 cup spinach

3/4 cup juice (apple, orange or water)

I add spinach because I honestly add spinach to every smoothie I make.  It has no taste in a smoothie but the nutritional value is extraordinary.  And since my kids also drink these smoothies it is a way for me to “hide” veggies successfully.

Enjoy and be healthy!
