Intova’s DUB Waterproof Camera

 

We live a very active life and we are often unable to catch it on camera because I just can’t take my expensive camera with me.  It is not waterproof and quite fragile.  It is a shame that we don’t get to document our trips and travels.  But now we can.  But first – let me tell you a story…

 

 

Due to all our excursions I desperately wanted a camera about 5 years ago.  My husband picked out a really nice camera and I was thrilled.  I carried it with me everywhere – never to miss that perfect photo.  Then summer came and my daughter (six years old) and I found this great sand bar at a new beach.  We brought my camera and headed out.  The only thing was we hadn’t really paid attention to the tide levels and times for that day.  Little did we know we were on the wrong side of a high tide.  We tried coming back the way we started only the path was no longer there.  I can swim and she had a life jacket on but we were in a section between the river and the ocean and there were two conflicting tides.  We found out later there were many people who drown there over the years and I can definitely see how that can happen.  Either way I do think we could have made it – IF I would have just had a waterproof camera or decided to drop the one I had.  I wasn’t quite desperate enough to do that just yet.  My daughter kept saying “why don’t you just touch the bottom?”  Hmm… Novel idea… Well marine police showed up just in time and my camera only got a little wet.  I was able to salvage it and it really wasn’t any worse for the wear.  Best of all we were left with an amazing story to tell future generations.  In the meantime – we needed a more versatile camera that I don’t need to risk my life for.
