Jurassic World 3 Goes For The ‘Baby Yoda’ Effect

Even a film franchise as big as ‘Jurassic Park’ needs something to keep fans coming back time after time. There have been almost too many entries in the series of movies for us to count at this point, and so it seems that the producers of ‘Jurassic World 3’ are taking a new approach in trying to persuade us to part with our cash to see the next film – they’re going to try to rope us in with cuteness.

It would seem that Universal Pictures have been paying very close attention to the ‘Baby Yoda’ craze that swept the internet a few short months ago. Images of the super-cute ‘Star Wars’ character were everywhere you looked online for a while, and still sell a lot of t-shirts and dolls today. The popularity of the dolls might be a delayed reaction – Baby Yoda dolls were at the top of a lot of Christmas wish lists in 2019, only for children (and some adults) to end up disappointed when they found out that no such product yet existed. That problem has since been rectified, but Baby Yoda is apparently going to have a new rival soon in the shape of an adorable baby dinosaur.

Production and filming of the third ‘Jurassic World’ movie only began in early February, but we’ve already been presented with a picture that’s made the internet fall in love. Colin Trevorrow, who’s in the director’s chair for the film, showed the world a very cute animatronic baby triceratops on Twitter, and no sooner had he done that, the picture was everywhere. The Tweet has been re-Tweeted thousands of times, and some people are already asking where they can buy toy baby triceratops figurines of their own. We’re sure that as soon as we see it in polished film footage it will become even more potent as an attraction, and children will start demanding that their parents take them to see it.

The fact that we’re talking about a recognizable dinosaur might signal a change in direction for the third ‘Jurassic World’ film. The last two movies have heavily focused on the existence of dino-hybrids made in labs by hard-of-thinking humans. Although they made for impressive movie monsters, some fans of the original trilogy of films felt that they harmed the authenticity of the series. There are plenty of factual dinosaurs that are large and terrifying enough to scare audiences. The creation of fictional ones just to boost the scare felt, to them at least, like a cheap trick. Trevorrow has suggested in the past that the hybrid-dino story has been told in full, and therefore the third film would show us something different.

Whatever that ‘something different’ turns out to be, there’s little doubt that it will attract millions of dollars at the box office. The ‘Jurassic World’ name is one of the most bankable in movie history, and its money-making abilities have been demonstrated far beyond the confines of movie theater screens. Many online slots websites have been thankful for the presence of the official Jurassic World game, for example. While not every successful movie gets an officially licensed online slots product made, the existence of licensed slots is increasingly becoming an indicator of a movie’s success. If there’s money to be made with it, it’ll find it’s way to UK Online Slots. ‘Jurassic World’ is already there, and it’s already making big money.

Because production only officially began a couple of weeks ago, there isn’t much we can tell you yet about the film beyond what we’ve covered above. We are, however, very excited that Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill are involved, and also that Jake Johnson and Omar Sy are also along for the ride. When you also take into account that Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, DeWanda Wise, Mammodou Athie, Daniella Pineda, and Justice Smith have all already confirmed their involvement, this is the biggest and most star-studded cast in the history of the franchise. Gathering so many of the stars of the series’ past and present together at the same time makes us wonder in passing whether this could be intended as the very last ‘Jurassic Park’ film, but so long as it makes a healthy return at the box office it’s hard to believe that another script won’t be written, and another movie won’t be made. This is, however, likely to be the last encounter with prehistoric lizards for the majority of the people we’ve just named – which means that none of their characters can be considered safe while the film is rolling!

At present, the film is scheduled to be released in the middle of June 2021, but at this early stage of production, anything could change, and the date can and probably will slip back by at least a few months. Trevorrow has told the people responsible for marketing the film that he sees it as a ‘science thriller,’ and similar in tone and presentation to the very first ‘Jurassic Park’ movie, which was directed by Steven Spielberg and was released in 1993. Although it’s currently listed simply as ‘Jurassic World 3,’ the official working title of the movie is ‘Jurassic World: Arcadia,’ which is the name of the boat that dinosaurs were being taken to the United States mainland on during 2018’s ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.’ It’s thought – but not confirmed – that one of the central elements of this new film is the idea that many people now possess the technology required to make dinosaurs of their own, and so ‘unlicensed’ dinosaurs are now being made in labs and released into the wild all over the world. That would certainly go some way to explaining how and why characters from the 1990s movies would find their services being called upon to assist.

For now, much of the above is speculation. All we can say with absolute certainty is that another ‘Jurassic World’ film is coming out in either 2021 or 2022, the cast sounds incredible, and it’s going to have a very cute baby triceratops in it. If you’re a parent, begin mentally preparing yourself to be pestered not only to go and see the film but also to pay for some related toys for your kid to play with! Be honest, though – you’re kind of drawn to it yourself!
