Walkie Talkie Fun

We are a very busy family.  Sure the kids have cell phones since they are in their teens but cell phones can be very expensive and are often subject to dead zones.  We needed a solution for the kids while in our neighborhood, while camping and while trail riding with our horses.  The solution was easily found in this set of walkie talkies.  Our set is green but it is also available in blue and silver.

First of all I love the color.  Kids lose things – alot! And with this neon green it is almost impossible to misplace these radios.  They do come with a rechargeable battery pack as well as a charging cable.  But you can also choose to simply use AA batteries and not worry about losing the cable (been there and done that with just about every device the kids have).  When we go camping we usually take two vehicles and the walkie talkies allow us to actually speak to one another in our vehicles (we are always following one another).

These radios are unique in that they have easy voice and sound activation transmission.  There are 22 channels and they even come with lanyards which is perfect for when the kids are running and riding their bikes around.  They will work with other brands as long as they are on the same channel.  There are ten weather band channels in order to receive severe weather alert updates.  Other features include 8 adjustable volume settings, 10 call tone settings, 22 channels and privacy codes.
