I participated in the Neil Diamond Melody Road album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided a free album to review but all opinions are my own.
Neil Diamond, one of the world’s premiere recording artists, internationally renowned and record-breaking concert performer and revered songwriter, is set to release his brand new studio album, Melody Road, now in stores. The album, marks his first original studio release in six years and first since signing with Capitol Records. Acclaimed producers Don Was and Jacknife Lee co-produced the album. In addition, there will be a special 36-page lyric book with guitar chords included in the packaging of each album.
I have been married for 24 years and we have listened to Neil Diamond music that entire time. Our five kids are totally in touch with loving Neil Diamond. Neil will be touring but the tour dates have yet to be announced.
According to Capitol Music Group Chairman & CEO Steve Barnett, “Neil has made a brilliant record, one of the very finest in his singular body of work. His beautiful and heartfelt songs on Melody Road are imbued with the wisdom of a man reflecting on life’s experiences while still looking forward on the road ahead of him. He delivers these songs with the passion of an artist fully committed to his craft, and in that warmly distinctive voice that has brought us so many Neil Diamond classics. All of us at Capitol are thrilled to be presenting Melody Road to the world.”
Throughout his career, Neil Diamond has had 37 Top 40 singles and 16 Top 10 albums in the U.S. His most recent original studio release, 2008’s Home Before Dark, debuted at #1 in the U.S. and the UK on the Billboard Top Albums chart.
I was so excited to be able to participate in promoting Neil’s newest piece of art. He is an amazing talent and this newest CD is as good as any of his best! The CD has the following 12 songs:
Melody Road
First Time
Seongah and Jimmy
Something Blue
Nothing But A Heartache
In Better Days
(OOO) Do I Wanna Be Yours
Alone At The Ball
Sunny Disposition
Marry Me Now
The Art of Love
Melody Road (Reprise)
I seriously struggle with trying to figure out which of his newest releases are my favorite. I would have to say Marry Me Now – it has a pop type feel to it and is a really down to earth song about the basics of love and the desire to get married. I also like The Art of Love – much less of a pop feeling but a true piece of art. And naturally I love Melody Road and it is the perfect song to headline this album.
